But we do work hard to treat you as a real person.

Our commitment to you as a job seeker is to put you forward only for those roles where we believe that you have a very good chance of becoming the one person our client wants, and to tell you as early in the process as we can if our consultant believes you are not the right person.

We will not put your CV forward to a client without talking to you about the role.  You will be made aware by your consultant of where we have sent your details, and also what the client is looking for in the role to the extent they have told us.  We will ask you to let us know where you have sent your CV, or which other recruiters you are working with.  This is not just to be nosy, or to try to trip you up.  It is very important that we do not embarrass you or anyone else by putting forward your details to a client only to find that they are already there.

Most of the professional sectors, such as banking and finance, commercial support, ITC, HR and others have high expectations of the experience and skills of the people they are looking for.  They are not always right, but they are always the client. It is a very good discipline to review your strengths against the requirements of the job ad, and only apply to those were you can actually demonstrate the experience they are looking for.

Like many recruiters we work hard for our clients, looking for that one person who is going to help our client succeed. Sometimes that one right person is right in front of us, someone that we have worked with before, and sometimes it is someone totally new to Alpha. 

Because our client is usually only looking for one person, we frequently have to say no to many very good people. It is not that we don't like you.  It is our job to determine, on behalf of the client, the person most likely to succeed in the role, not necessarily the person we liked the most.

And if we can say yes to you, and the client agrees, after what is usually the culmination of a lot of hard work from you and our consultants, it is a great experience, and one we truly want to share with you.
