My Story - Roy Netto
This month our My Story candidate is our July 'Temp of the Month', Rot Netto.
Tell me a little about where you grew up and what it was like.
I grew up in India for the first 18 years of my life - my father was a jumbo Captain for the National Carrier there and I had an amazing life travelling and seeing the world with him and the rest of the family - given our Ango-Indian background ie British origins we looked forward to seeing more European destinations courtesy of the Airline and that for me was the highlight and the pinnacle of my life living in India ie having the best of my home town and the world at my finger tips.
Why did you choose the career you have worked in?
I’ve been in Aviation for 19 years and previously worked in a flight simulator as a simulator instructor training pilots for various airlines with an extensive management and training background - this job that was offered to me gave me an exciting bridge to learn new skills for when I do return to aviation early next year
Working at the hospital has been magical so far thanks to Alpha -it has given me a deeper insight into the humane and compassionate side of my nature , it has given me a better appreciation of life and the fact that I have both my hands and legs to be of service to this amazing hospital - absolutely love it ❤️
What was it about NZ that attracted you?
Aviation in Nz is one of the best training facilities in the world which is what attracted me and as an international student at the time now of course a Nz citizen , I was trained by one of the top schools and still pursue and continue my journey to fly for Air New Zealand one day as an Airline Captain. Working at the hospital has surely changed the way I perceive human beings and am very grateful for the job that I have - thank you Alpha ???? , I say to myself never stop upgrading and learning new skills - what a rewarding experience working at a hospital
How have you found living and working in NZ?
Very welcoming people our fellow Kiwis - Nz gives you potential to grow and progress through your job and eventually help you achieve your goals provided you are sincere loyal and dedicated to your career - you are recognised for your hard work and potential if an employer sees that spark in you - winning positive attitude is the key
Can you tell me a little about your experience with Alpha, and how we have been involved in your journey?
Alpha have been amazing recommending my job to me which I truly love ❤️, all the staff are so friendly , professional and care about you. I love the way they send emails checking to see how we are doing and if there’s anything we need , I know your all are always there for us so a big thank you and hug.
