This month our My Story candidate is our October 'Temp of the Month', Teresa McCurran. 

Tell me a little about where you grew up and what it was like.

I grew up in the lower North Island, alternating between Bunnythorpe and Cannons Creek as l swapped between my parents. I was the youngest of six kids, so l have always been very independent, and moving up to Auckland didn't seem too daunting.

Why did you choose the career you have worked in?

l've always enjoyed systems, and organising things, so working in administration is a natural fit for me. I also enjoy the variety of tasks and responsibilities  that admin roles usually have.

What was it about NZ that attracted you? 

I've lived here forever.

How have you found living and working in NZ?

I've lived here forever, so I can't compare.

Can you tell me a little about your experience with Alpha, and how we have been involved in your journey

I came to Alpha when l wanted to reenter the workforce after having kids. I've loved how they found me a part time placement so I can have a good work-life balance while my little ones grow up.
