Our hospital boasts 3 advanced operating theatres, 14 day-stay beds, and 15 inpatient beds, specialising in general surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, cataracts, endoscopy, and ENT. Part-time Working Hours:
We are offering a part-time position of 2-3 days, with shifts scheduling between Monday to Friday between 7am and 8pm. Your start date is negotiable to suit your availability.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Bring your clinical expertise to the operating theatre, focusing on orthopaedic procedures, including groundbreaking robotic knee surgeries that offer less pain and quicker recovery for patients.
  • Keep detailed, accurate patient care documentation, ensuring smooth processes and effective treatment.
  • Be a vital advocate and support for patients and their families/whānau throughout their healthcare journey, making a meaningful impact every day.
  • Use your professional knowledge, clinical decision-making, and scientific expertise to provide top-notch interventions.
  • Build and nurture strong, supportive relationships with patients, families, and whānau, ensuring their care is compassionate and holistic.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, positive team environment where every member is valued.
  • Stay up to date with healthcare legislation and policies to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Help shape the next generation of healthcare professionals by guiding students and new staff through their clinical learning journeys.
  • Deliver culturally safe care, honouring the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi / Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all aspects of your work.

What We’re Looking for in You:

  • You’re a New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate.
  • You have previous experience in the operating theatre, especially in orthopaedic procedures.
  • You’re familiar with perioperative nursing standards (AORN, Infection Control).
  • You hold Advanced Life Support Certification (or are keen to obtain it).
  • You have a current PDRP or are eager to achieve one within 12 months.
  • You understand and are committed to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi / Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • You’re IT-savvy and comfortable with hospital systems and technology.
  • You take pride in your professional presentation and communication skills.
  • You’re a team player with a positive, flexible attitude and a passion for making a difference.
